Schedule: Monday–Friday; rotating on-call and occasional weekends

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Technician is responsible for the day-to-day physical operations of the MBHC warehouse, including receiving, cleaning, processing, staging, and shipping of durable medical equipment (DME) and supplies. This role supports our clinical and delivery teams by ensuring that all equipment is accurately tracked, properly cleaned and disinfected, and ready for patient use in compliance with Joint Commission, FDA, CMS, and HIPAA requirements. The Warehouse Technician may also assist with delivery support duties as operationally needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receiving & Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming shipments of DME and supplies into Brightree practice management system.
- Verify quantities and conditions against purchase orders; escalate discrepancies to the Director of Operations.
- Maintain accurate lot number, serial number, and expiration date tracking in compliance with MBHC recall/tracking policy.
- Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and ensure proper product segregation (clean vs. soiled, new vs. returned).
Equipment Processing & Disinfection:
- Clean, disinfect, and functionally test all returned respiratory equipment (Ex: ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, suction machines, cough assist devices, and related accessories) per MBHC infection control and reprocessing protocols.
- Maintain cleaning room in a neat, organized, and inspection-ready condition at all times.
- Document all cleaning activities on applicable logs; report equipment failures or safety hazards immediately.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs; coordinate with vendors for major service needs.
Order Fulfillment & Staging:
- Pull and stage equipment and supplies for scheduled patient deliveries according to delivery tickets and Brightree work orders.
- Assemble, configure, and verify DME prior to dispatch in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and MBHC SOPs.
- Load and secure equipment in delivery vehicles; assist drivers with loading/unloading as needed.
- Process outgoing shipments (UPS, FedEx, courier) accurately and on schedule.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance; handle all patient-identifiable information (delivery tickets, order forms) with confidentiality.
- Complete required documentation accurately, including receiving logs, cleaning records, lot/serial tracking forms, and equipment history.
- Participate in Joint Commission readiness activities and internal compliance audits.
- Report all equipment hazards, product recalls (e.g., FDA FSNs), or safety concerns per MBHC incident reporting policy.
- Adhere to all Cal/OSHA safety standards, including proper use of PPE, back support, and steel-toed footwear.
General Operations Support:
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety at all times.
- Support delivery technicians and clinical staff with equipment logistics during urgent or after-hours requests.
- Assist with fleet vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues per MBHC vehicle use policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or PSR Supervisors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of warehouse, healthcare technician, or related experience preferred; DME or medical equipment experience a strong plus.
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record (required); must be insurable under MBHC fleet policy.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, delivery tickets, and equipment instructions.
- Basic computer literacy; experience with DME/HME software (Brightree preferred) or willingness to learn.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, push, pull, and perform moderate to heavy physical labor throughout the shift.
- Must be able to work in environments with potential exposure to airborne, bloodborne, and/or other potentially infectious pathogens; PPE provided.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in a DME, HME, home health, or related healthcare supply environment.
- Familiarity with CMS supplier standards, Joint Commission DME requirements, or HIPAA.
- Experience cleaning and testing respiratory equipment (ventilators, PAP devices, suction machines, cough-assist devices).
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese a plus given our patient population.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is a physically active, on-site warehouse position. The employee will regularly work in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to varying temperatures, noise levels, and biological hazards associated with returned medical equipment.
